There will be NO Bible Study this week.
Members and Friends of Mt. Zion, Thank you for your
support, encouragement and prayers for our Vacation Bible School.
We enjoyed an immensely blessed week focusing on our theme, "Chosen
Champions for Jesus," based on 1 Peter 2:9.
All VBS STAFF-Please come to the follow-up meeting at
6:00pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in the Fellowship Hall.
Pastor Logan and the Mt. Zion family is invited to
Jimtown
Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, KY on Sunday, August 10,
2008 where Wendell Lewis is Pastor. We will be celebrating their
Homecoming Service. Dinner will be served. Please sign up on
the Bulletin Board in the Lobby if you plan to go.
Keep those donations coming for
Community
Day (July 26th). Drop them off in the gym. Thanks to
those who have already contributed!
The PHD Dinner will be held next Sunday (July 20th)
immediately after Morning Service for those students who have met the
criteria for this past school year.
It's time to start planning the Women's Overnight
Retreat (Sept. 12-13, 2008). If you would like to be a part of the
Planning Committee, please come out to our first meeting on this
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 7:00pm. The meeting will be held in
the Library.
Pastor Logan and the entire Mt. Zion Missionary
Baptist Church family are invited to
Greater New Hope
Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 4:00 pm to
celebrate their 83rd Church Anniversary.
The Western Union
Baptist District Association will convene its 136th Session on
Monday, July 28, 2008. On Thursday, July 31, 2008, the Western
Union Scholarship Banquet will be held here at Mt. Zion at 7:00pm.
Everyone is invited to attend the annual church picnic
to be held on August 9, 2007 at Washington Park in Glendale. The fun
starts at noon. There will be games, fun, food, a lot watermelon and
plenty of good fellowship!!! See you there.
We're looking forward to joining with all youth,
grades K-12, parents and friends at the Back-to-School Jamboree on
Wednesday, August 11, 2008 from 6 pm until 8 pm. More information
will be coming soon! - Family Life Ministry.
Pastor Logan is nearing completion of his Masters of
Theological Studies!! He will graduate on Friday, October 10, 2008
in Los Angeles, CA at the
WHW Conference. Anyone interested in
going to California to join in congratulating Pastor Logan during his
graduation, please see Sister Carole Dillon.
