DEACONS

Deacon – (Diakonos): One who was chosen to serve the members of the church; a servant in any area of need that might arise; a supportive role in the spiritual ministry of the church.

The effectiveness of the deacons service is determined by the measure of his commitment and faithfulness.  The deacon is expected to serve the church by the example of his character as well as by his deeds.

Deacons minister:

• Through the communion service

• Through visitation of the sick and shut-in

• Through counseling

• Through welcoming new members

• Through discipline

• By example
