TITUS 2 WOMEN
Titus 2:3-5
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Titus 2 Women
Titus 2:3-5
Objectives
To assist Christian women to teach, model, motivate, and obey the mandate to minister to women in ways that women are uniquely gifted. This is necessary for healthy development and for equipping women to grow to full maturity in Christ through 1:1 Discipleship.
We want to:
• Honor God through compassionate service to each other.
• Provide an atmosphere where joy is found in Jesus.
• Encourage prayerful partnership with God.
• Face adversity with Christ’s strategy of love and grace.
• Intentionally communicate God’s love.
• Mentor and empower one another.
Commitment
• A one-year interaction between the mentor and mentee.
• To pray for each other.
• To go through the monthly scriptures and answer the questions individually, as well as discuss collectively.
• To contact each other once a week and meet at least once a month. Either party can do this, but the overall responsibility is that of the mentor.
• To spend time together to work on the mentor/mentee relationship (for example, bible study, going to lunch, shopping, learning a new skill).
• Submission of monthly summarization sheets to the coordinator.
I Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing.

The Characteristics of a Mentor
(demonstrated by Naomi and Ruth in the Book of Ruth)
1. God’s Word must be the authority.
• The older woman must instruct and advise according to God’s Word and should encourage the younger woman to receive her blessings.
2. The older woman must be a good role model.
• Her life must attract the younger women.
3. The older woman must have the right motives.
• She should not be seeking to meet her own needs, but trying to meet the needs of the younger woman.
4. The older woman must be an encourager.
• She should support, praise, and admonish without obligating the younger woman.
5. The older woman must be an advisor, not an authority.
• She must not impose her will, but should respect the right of the younger woman to make decisions and to accept responsibility for the consequences.
6. The relationship should be a mutual ministry.
• The younger woman has much to offer the older woman and must
contribute to the relationship. This is a two-way street.
7. Communication is vital.
• In order for the relationship to flourish, open, honest, and mutual
communication is needed on a regular basis.
8. Both parties have responsibilities.
• The older is responsible to counsel, train, and protect. The younger is responsible to be teachable, to accept counsel, and to respect the wisdom of the older.
9. Both parties can experience blessings.
• As the relationship grows, so will each person’s walk with the Lord.
10. Such relationships will be influential in the future.
• The younger woman will become the older woman and share her learnings with a younger woman.

The 1st Month

(Month/Year)
This month’s focus is on Salvation and Discipleship.
In the Greek, salvation (soteria) means rescue, safety (physically or morally), to deliver.
In the Greek, disciple (mathetes) means to learn, to understand, follower of a teacher.
Salvation – Being assured that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
• Romans 3:10 – As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:
• Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
• Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
• Romans 10:9-10 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Reading over these verses, can you truly say you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior? If yes, what event in your life made you pray the sinners prayer and get saved? If no, will you accept Him today?

Discipleship – One teaches, the other learns.
• Matthew 6:6 – But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
• Matthew 10:1-16 – And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples…But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel…Heal the sick…freely ye have received, freely give…Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
• Ephesians 4:26 – Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
• Titus 2:4 – That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
The above scriptures emphasize discipleship. What do you need/want to get out of this 1:1 Discipleship relationship?

This month’s focus is on Behavior.
In the Greek, behaviour (katastema) means a position, condition, or demeanour.
Behavior – Conduct, showing great respect to God, yourself, and others.
• I Samuel 18:14-15 – And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him. Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.
• Psalm 101:2 – I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
• I Chronicles 19:13 – Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the Lord do that which is good in his sight.
• I Thessalonians 2:10 – Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
• Titus 2:3 – The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness…
The above scriptures emphasize behaviors. Overall, how would you rate your behavior towards family members, those in leadership, and those you work with?
