Core Values

SPIRIT-LED: We believe that God speaks to and guides us as long as we are obedient and submit to Him in our hearts. Only then are we able to overcome fear and experience the full power of the Spirit to be witnesses for Christ. Therefore, with the recognition that Christ is the head of our church and lives, we look to Him for guidance through prayer and seek to implement His decisions not our own. (Rom 8:13-17; Philippians 3:9-14; Acts 1:8)

FAITH: We believe that faith is hearing and obeying God’s words spoken to us through the Holy Spirit, and the willingness to persevere to see His promise fulfilled. (Romans 10:17; John 14: 16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 10:35-38)

THE BIBLE: We believe that God reveals Himself and Jesus Christ to us through the Bible, the inspired written Word of God and His righteousness. Therefore, the Bible is the ultimate authority in all matters, its teachings relevant to every person and generation, the foundation for every decision, and the standard by which every action is measured. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

DISCIPLESHIP: We believe that as followers of Jesus Christ we must continuously strive to be more like Him in what we think, say, and do. This means being humble servants in our Christian walk guided by what He taught us through His actions and teachings, and reaching out to the unsaved through spreading of the Gospel. (Matthew 28:19-20)

EVANGELISM: We believe that it is our duty as Christians to share the good news of salvation with others…. that Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth to reveal the nature of God, and saved us from our sins, and whomsoever believeth in Him shall have eternal life. Therefore we seek to effectively equip believers for personal evangelism. (Mark 16:15-16; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:14-15)

BIBLE TEACHING: We believe that teaching God’s Word is an essential part of transforming the life of the believer and the church. Therefore bible classes, Christian education, and Sunday school are important church ministries. (Acts 2:41-42)

RESPECT: We believe that we must value and treat others as Jesus did, with kindness, love, compassion, and a forgiving heart. (Ephesians 4:32)

LOVE: We believe that our love for God should result in loving relationships that are evident in every aspect of church life; and every decision, program, and service must be filled with the love of God. We are to care deeply for others, exhibit concern for one another, and develop and maintain a climate where all people can feel loved and accepted. (I Corinthians 13:1-7)

PRAYER: We believe that both personal and congregational prayer is essential for understanding and doing God’s will. (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)

WORSHIP: We believe in spirited congregational and private worship for the purpose of connecting with God and resulting in commitment to service. It is a privilege given to us by God to offer praise and thanksgiving and glorify Him. Therefore, our worship should please God and restore and refresh our lives. (Psalms 95:1-2; Psalms 95:6; John 4:24)

STRONG FAMILIES: We believe families are strengthened by their belief in Jesus Christ and desire to grow spiritually. Therefore, we must maintain ministries and activities that are family oriented and promote family unity. (Ephesians 5:22-25; Ephesians 6:1-3)

TITHING: We believe all our resources belong to God and we must obey the Word that requires us to give a tenth back to Him to receive His blessings. (Luke 6:38; Malachi 3:10)
